This week I finally made a special request for a little girl's bag - Mizzou Style....it turned out pretty cute!  Excuse the loose threads on it...I hadn't trimmed them off yet when I took the picture!

Santa Coaster

Last night, I had just enough time to make these Santa coasters! The two sets I posted yesterday on Etsy sold in just a matter of a couple of hours!!! I was shocked they sold so quickly! Don't get me wrong..they are adorable (at least I think so), but had no idea they would go so quickly!!

Can't wait to get home on Sunday and make some more. :)

When things don't go as planned

Sometimes...things just don't go as planned. I had planned on getting so much done all day today...and instead spent my day doing other things....for more on that read here.

I do want to share with you another creation of mine...it is a great handbag to take to the market....a cute shopping bag!

Check it out!
I know I had said that I would post more on etsy....but I couldn't find the time today with all the other things happening in our house. I will be at home tomorrow morning..so hoping to get this accomplished then...without any interruptions....ahh....I can't wait!
Thanks for hanging in there y'all! Between not finding my camera and extra "errands" that happened this weekend....it was hard to find time to sit down in front of the computer.
I have more to show....so hang in there! And look for a "handbag" giveaway....coming this week!

Here is just a taste

Of just what is in store....My day has not gone as planned....but I am finally home from being away all afternoon and wanted to share with you the first 8 bags I will be adding to etsy tonight!

I have a total of 20 bags to sell....and will add more tomorrow......but in just a few hours....I am open for business!

I hope you love the patterns...I know that I do! In fact...there a couple I would love to keep for myself...LOL! Even the hubby has his favorites!....as you can see below all are pretty much the same style...as I love carrying this handbag around...but some have pockets...some do not and the green polka dot below is a larger bag that could be used for a diaper bag.

Enjoy! And be sure to check out my etsy site (I will have a link on my blog in just a bit!)!

Thanks for all of your support!

Coming today!

Due to some technical difficulties (ummmm can't find my camera!) I am delayed in showing you all the handbags I have been working on....I promise by the end of the day....Anna Phyllis Designs will be open for business!

15th

The 15th is this week! And I am so excited to share with you all what I have been working on. It has been a very busy weekend and I have one more order of fabric being delivered to my doorstep today!

The main thing I am working on right now are handbags and a couple of “mommy” bags. I hope to start on accessories soon, but for this weekend the launch will include handbags.

My plan is to never make a handbag look just like another. Each will be unique, they will have their own expression of style and I want them to be affordable! If there is one thing I love is when a handbag stands out in a crowd. Like if you are at the airport, and someone says “Great handbag”. And you reply joyfully, “Thanks!” This is the reaction I am going for when creating each handbag. I want all my customers to get the “wow” factor from their purchase.

I hope that I can satisfy!

I love COLORS and FABRIC!

I LOVE COLORS! Seriously, it makes me happy looking at fabric and colors! One of the many reasons why I love making handbags!!!

Here are a few samples of more fabric I have ordered....you will have to wait and see what I do with them all.

I could look at fabric and colors all day long...I could!
So the handbags have begun and I am excited to share with you all that I have been making....but I am going to wait until the big reveal next Saturday, the 15th! Anything I have made will be posted onto my etsy site and available for purchase!
Some of the fabrics I have been using are from Amy Butler, Alexander Henry, Michael Miller, Anna Maria and more! These fabrics are not your typical fabrics that you can find in a Joann's or Hobby Lobby store. They are designer fabrics that are higher in quality and are just a bit more upscale that the quilting fabrics in the stores. (plus a little softer too!)
All of my handbags that will be for sale are going to be one of a kind! I will never make two bags that are exactly the same...that is what makes them unique and special!
Keep checking my site today as I will updating it more with info about Anna Phyllis Designs!
Look for the color in life today! It's out there!!

Behind the name....

Well I am finally getting around to beginning my posts for this blog. The sewing has begun and it's time to share some info.

The name I have chosen is Anna Phyllis Designs. Where did I get that name?? From these two amazing women in the picture above. On the left is my Granny K (aka...Anna Mae - my Dad's mom who passed away in December 2008) and on the right is my Grandma B (aka....Phyllis - my Mom's mom who passed away in August 2007). I took this picture of them at my SIL's bridal shower 3 years ago...and it is such a good picture...and exactly what I remember them like.

I thought about all kinds of names to use...but it just seemed fitting to use their names....they are the two that inspired me to sew and I know they would just be smiling from ear to ear if they were here now and listening to me share about the handbags I have made.

So there you have it....the reason behind the name.
